This dental bleaching method is safe, easy, and highly recommended.

Did you know that 48% of people think your smile is the most memorable feature after they meet you for the first time? The study by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry showed that, for many people, first impressions can come down to the power of a smile. How well do you feel your smile represents you?

Hospital Dental Group strives to help every patient achieve his or her goals to represent him/herself well using high-quality cosmetic dentistry. One of the easiest and most affordable ways to upgrade your smile and overall appearance is teeth whitening. But dental bleaching can come in a variety of forms, so how do you know which is the best and safest for your teeth?

Dr. Ravin has evaluated many teeth bleaching systems and determined that the Ultradent Boost System is the most effective and patient-friendly. Here’s how it works:

What is Opalescence Boost?

Hartford-CT-Teeth-WhiteningOpalescence Boost is a chemically-activated whitening gel that takes only 40 minutes’ application in the dental chair. It is 40% hydrogen peroxide and chemically activated, so no hot, uncomfortable light is necessary as in some methods. The power gel also contains potassium nitrate and fluoride, essential ingredients for whitening. The dentist activates the 40% hydrogen peroxide formula right before its application so that each whitening formula is fresh and fully effective.

Whitening Treatment Steps (or, How to Get Whiter Teeth)

  1. Your dentist will use a shade guide to find the exact shade your teeth are currently.
  2. The power whitening gel is applied to your teeth using a gentle, brushed tip.
  3. You see results in less than an hour!
  4. Take home trays can be used at home for touch-ups.
  5. Come back to our office for a checkup and professional touch-up.
  6. You’re ready to go! Your teeth will have become several shades lighter, transforming your smile!

Restorative materials will not whiten, which is why we recommend you whiten teeth before any restorative work. Most treated teeth will continue to whiten between 12 and 24 hours after the dental bleaching. You may experience some tooth sensitivity, in which case you can follow these tips.
